The School of Floristry provides an opportunity to learn floristry skills at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels in a friendly, welcoming and attractive setting.
Workshops are led by tutors with a wealth of experience in all aspects of floristry and floral design, having gained experience by training and working at internationally renowned London florists such as McQueens and by completing the industry standard City and Guilds.
Workshops last from half a day up to a full week. We can also organise bespoke workshops for groups, hen parties and corporate clients. The School of Floristry can also travel to where you are - our tutors can organise workshops across Scotland for groups of 10 or more: call us to discuss your requirements.
The week long workshops covers the basic principles of floristry through theory and extensive practical work, and are designed for those considering a career in floristry, including those wishing to include floristry in their existing work and business. Areas covered include: introduction to floristry in the UK, tools and equipment, preparation and conditioning, container selection and care, design principles, colour texture and balance, buying flowers and sundries, visit to Edinburgh wholesaler, hand-tied bouquet, spiral bouquet, low table arrangements, high table arrangements, goldfish bowls, birdcage and an introduction to wedding flowers.
